Most budgeting apps ask you to categorise your life before they give you anything back. LeanWallet is built the other way round: income, expenses, budgets and account balances in one place, legible in a glance, with as little setup as I could get away with.

Young adults download budgeting apps and abandon them within a week — the setup asks for more discipline than the budgeting itself.

- FlutterFlow was a deliberate trade: for a solo product validating an idea, shipping to the store in weeks beats hand-rolled architecture I'd maintain alone — the engineering judgement here was knowing what not to build.
- Subscription state has exactly one source of truth: RevenueCat entitlements. The app never interprets store receipts itself, which is where solo apps usually get billing wrong — restore purchases, plan changes and expiry all resolve through one entitlement check.
- The data model is shaped for the reading pattern, not the writing one: the summary screen is the app, so per-user documents are structured for one cheap read instead of client-side aggregation over transaction history.
